Soybeans
have lots of protein, which can help lower LDL cholesterol in order to reduce
or prevent getting cardiovascular disease. It can also help women going through
their menopause by reducing hot flashes and night sweats. Flaxseed has omega-3 fatty acids, which helps old people who have inflammation, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis.
Whole
grains, which include wheat, oats and brown rice, have lots of fiber. Eating
lots of fiber on a daily basis to reduce or prevent getting diabetes and heart
disease. Increased amount of fiber intake can also reduce overactive bladder
and control bowel movements.
Grapefruit
has low calories as well as vitamin C, which makes it a perfect fruit for
diets. It also helps tissue grow and repair. Moreover, it is an antioxidant,
which can reduce or prevent getting cancer and heart disease. If you take
vitamin C on a daily basis and you caught a cold, then your cold will end
faster.
Garlic
can reduce or prevent cancer as well as reduces the duration of colds and flus.
Avocado
has lots of vitamin E and phytosterols, which helps reduce cholesterol and
prevent heart disease. Vitamin E improves the immune system against infections.
Old people should eat lots of avocados to reduce and/or prevent heart and flu
problems.
Dark
chocolate has lots of flavonoid, which can reduce getting heart disease. But
make sure that the dark chocolate you eat has over 60% of cocoa.
Salmon
has a lot of omega-3, if you like to eat meat. But since I don’t care for
eating meat, I will skip this part.
Coffee
has lots of antioxidants, which reduce or prevent getting some cancers and
neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease. It can also reduce
getting MS and its related disability. That is good to know because I am a
coffee addict, anyway. I think I will keep drinking it.
Blueberries
have lots of antioxidants, which can reverse the decline in brain and health problems
that often occur during old age. It can also reduce getting heart attacks.
